Pack! Pack! Pack! As the date of FOC draws closer, many people are working hard to spread the word and make this happen... even if it's the most menial of jobs.
Soon future freshies will be receiving the FOC package and of course we had our own flyers to insert into the pack. Yes we had to pack our own flyers and thank God for the people who came to help in this job - Cecilia, Joshua, Jonathan, Nick and Petrina. Here's an account by Petrina who got more out of it than she expected...
"The turnout for the flyer distribution was better than expected. We thought that only Joshua, Cecilia and Jonathan would help out in the flyer packing but instead, two more enthu CSA pple, Nick and Petrina, came down to help out as well.
The flyer packing starting out well as we were all fresh and raring to go, but after a while things started to get a little monotonous. Cecilia even commented that she is beginning to smell the scent of paper in our hands! We needed to formulate our own incentive such that our packing pace will not deteriorate, and improve instead. Our incentive was to go and have a game of pool, arcade and loads more other crazy outing ideas.
Joshua was such a sweet, honest always ready to admit his mistakes and accept the pile of cards. Nick was such a cool dude that could somehow remain composed while snatching all the cards. Cecilia was the perfect teacher of the day, Jonathan was forever smiling and helping us to direct the game direction. I was definitely not the composed type so I ended up knocking down a full glass of water chestnut while playing obiobi.
We then proceeded to the $18 buffet place for a CSA get together. Loads of food was consumed and we even did our round of exercise and rest before consuming more again. Not to mention there was also "A" person who managed to avoid paying the $18 so she had a free dinner consisting of 10 chive dumplings! Most people will feel full after buffet. But not for our CSA hungry ghost who went off to the famous ah-chew dessert to have a stomach warming Chinese dessert. =)
All in all, they were just hilarious, joyous and fun memories forever to be cherished by us..."
